Funeral Services For Henry Lenz Held Thursday
Funeral services were held last Thursday at 2:00 p.m. for Henry C. Lenz, 85, at the Peet Chapel in Lusk. Mr. Lenz died December 2 at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital in Lusk from a heart condition.
The Rev. Fred Schuett of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lusk, officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Sigmund Hahn, organist, accompanied Robert Reichert, soloist as he sang "Beautiful Savior" and "I'm But a Stranger."
Casket bearers were Emil Klemke, Earnest Hansen, William Miller, Charles Heumier, Frank Taylor and Martin Glandt.
Henry Christopher Lenz, son of Henry (Henrich) and Maria Kammeier Lenz, was born July 24, 1883, at Palmer, Kans. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Palmer, August 5, 1883.
His early life was spent in and near Meadow Grove, Nebr. He homesteaded east of Jay Em in 1913.
April 25, 1925, he married Carrie Thurstonson Lingwood at Jay Em. They have resided northeast of Lusk for the past 42 years where he has been engaged in farming and ranching.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lusk.
Survivors include his widow, Carrie of the family home; two daughters, Mrs. Don F. Taylor of Aztec, N. Mex., Mrs. Oscar Bostrom of Lusk; four sons, Richard of the family place northeast of Lusk, Gene of Lusk, Hugo of Wheatland and Ralph T. Lingwood of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Miss Martha Lenz of Jay Em and Mrs. Marvin Cornett of Torrington.
His parents, one sister and four brothers died previously.

Henry Lenz, 85, Dies; Services This Thursday
Henry C. Lenz, 85, a resident of this area since 1913, died in the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital at 3:30 a.m. Monday of a heart condition. Funeral services will be held this Thursday from the Peet chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Lenz had been troubled with a heart condition this fall, but was not in the Hospital until shortly before his death.
Mr. Lenz was born in Palmar, Kan., July 24, 1883, and moved onto a homestead in the Jay Em area in 1913. It was here that he met and married Carrie Lingwood. They were married April 25, 1925, at Jay Em.
In 1926 Mr. and Mrs. Lenz moved onto a homestead seven miles north of Lusk.
He is survived by his widow, Carrie, Lusk; daughter, Mrs. Don F. Taylor, Aztec, N. Mex.; sons, Hugo, Wheatland, Richard H. and Gene F., Lusk; stepson, Ralph T. Lingwood, Boulder, Colo; step-daughter, Mrs. Oscar Bostrom, Lusk; sisters, Martha Lenz, Jay Em, Mrs. Hermine Cornett, Torrington.
His parents, four brothers and one sister died previously.
The Rev. Fred Schuett of St. Paul's Evangelic Lutheran Church will officiate at the services. Mr. Lenz had long been a member of St. Paul's.
