Charles Dean Leimser

Graveside services of Charles Dean Leimser, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998 at the Lusk Cemetery with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Leimser died early Monday morning at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. He was born Oct. 19, 1923, to Joe and Hattie (Paschal) Leimser at Hastings, Nebr.

The family moved to Wyoming in 1927, homesteading north of Lusk at the Buck Creek Hills in 1928.

Dean, his brothers and sister walked two miles to the Rough Rock School, attending through the eighth grade. He attended and graduated from Lusk High School in 1941.

As a young boy growing up, he worked for his uncle Frank Paschal and other neighbors as a ranch hand. After graduating from high school, he was employed by the JA6 ranch for 14 years.

He moved to town in 1954 and drove truck for R.B. Wilson until he started driving for his brother Dale. He continued driving until his retirement in 1990.

He lived with his parents from 1957 until their deaths and then with his sister until she entered into the nursing home. He continued to live by himself until his death.

His favorite pastime was reading. He enjoyed a good book, regardless of the topic.

He will be remembered by his family and friends as a good hearted person, ready to lend a helping hand, but never asking anything in return.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed visiting with his many friends.

He was the family historian. So many times when we needed to know a name, place or incident, we'd say, "Ask Dean, He'll know" and he would nearly always have the answer.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Alice Leimser and his sister, Hazel Hammer; three nieces, Eleanor Aamodt, Naomi Lorenzen and JoAnn Jackson; one nephew, David Leimser; three great-nieces, four great-nephews, three great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Dale.

Memorials are to the senior center or to the Carnegie Library in Lusk.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
