Mrs. Lang Dies in Cal. Aug. 30
Mrs. Minnie Porter Lang, 90, of San Diego Calif., mother of Mrs. Harry Fernau Sr. of Lusk, died August 30 at Sharp Hospital, following emergency surgery. Interment was at Greenwood Memorial Mausoleum September 1, at San Diego. A blanket of flowers draped the casket, one blossom for each of her direct descendants.
She was born at Sharon, Penn., July 11, 1879 and was a resident of Lusk for many years. The past five years she has been living at the Knoolwood Convalescent home. She was admitted to the Sharp Hospital August 25.
Survivors includes her eight daughters: Mrs. Floyd Douglas, Alliance, Nebr.; Mrs. Lola Blackmore, Fort Collins, Colo.; Mrs. Fernau, Lusk; Mrs. Opal Yates and Mrs. Dorothy Hockett, Gillette; Mrs. Billie Clark, Lancaster, Calif.; Mrs. Mamie Cox and Mrs. Peggy Kraus, San Diego; one sister, Mrs. Otto Higley, Alliance, Nebr.; one brother, Carl Weldin, Alda, Nebr.; 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Two sons and a daughter died previously.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Litchfield, Nebr., was a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Rebekah Lodge, all of Litchfield.
