Floyd Robert Lancster

Floyd Robert Lancster, 86 of Lingle, Wyo. died Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Torrington Community Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Aug., 26 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Torrington. Rev. William Compton officiated. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Floyd R. Lancster was born Oct. 22, 1900 at Marietta, GA to George and Cordelia (Wilson) Lancster. He was educated in the Marietta schools. He moved to Wyoming in 1939 and was married to Florence Johnson on Sept. 27, 1941 in Gering, NE.

He was employed at the Sunrise Mines from 1939 to 1942 when he moved to Lance Creek, where he worked in the oil fields from 1942 until 1955. He then moved to Torrington. He was also employed at the Guernsey National Guard Camp and at the Holly Sugar Corporation for a number of years.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and presently was a Trustee of the Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include two sons, Glen of Harrah, OK, and Delmer of Lingle; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Leola) Finkle of Estes Park, CO, Mrs. Lonald (Twila) Kroeger of Medicine Bow, Wy. and Mrs. Donna Donovan of Little Rock, CA, one brother, William Lancster of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Lois Goebel of St. Louis, MO, Ruby Clark of Toledo, OH; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his wife in 1977, three grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

Sutley Funeral Chapel of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
