Frances Mary LaBree

Frances Mary LaBree, 85, of Miles City, Mont., formerly of Ismay and Ekalaka, died Friday, Aug. 30, 1996 at the Holy Rosary Health Care Center in Miles City.

Vigil Service was Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, in the Funeral Home in Ekalaka. Mass was celebrated Sept. 4, 1996, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Tobin officiating.

Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Ekalaka. Stevenson Funeral Homes of Ekalaka was in charge of the arrangements.

She was born Dec. 2, 1910, south of Ismay on O'Fallon Creek ? mile south of the present buildings, to Emmett and Mabel Hunter Jordan.

She attended schools at the Sacred Heart Academy at Miles City, two years of high school at the St. Martin's Academy at Miles City and later graduated from the Ismay High School in 1927.

She also attended three years of nursing training at the Our Lady of Laurles Hospital at Hot Springs, S.D., in 1930.

She married John E. LaBree April 17, 1934, in Baker.

Together they ranched and raised their family south of Ismay for the next 52 years.

Her greatest love was for her family. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, a member of the national, state and southeastern Fallon Creek and Carter Cow Belles and a member of the Range Riders Reps.

She moved into the T.L.C. nursing home in 1992 due to failing health.

Survivors include sons Emmett LaBree and his wife, Ora, Jordan LaBree and his wife, Rene and Larry LaBree all of Ismay; daughters Johnella Lambert and her husband, Laurance, of Ismay and Julie Livengood of Spearfish, S.D.; daughter-in-law, Linda Labree Newman of Billings, Mont.; brothers Charles Jordan of Sheridan and Larry Jordan of Billings; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1986; a son, Harold in 1968; four brothers and two sisters.
