Jennie Linn Flores Kruse, 86, was born in Belle Plains, Tex., on October 27, 1880, the daughter of Georgianne Ricketts and James Peter Flores.

When she was seven, the family moved to the site of the present Amarillo, Texas, to help establish the town. At that time it was a tent town with only two houses, one of which the Flores family owned. She and her brothers attended the first school which consisted of five pupils, and was held in a covered wagon.

She grew to young womanhood on the panhandle of northern Texas where her father ranched. She became a dressmaker and milliner in Amarillo.

In 1910, she joined two brothers in Sheridan to work at a dressmaking shop there and in Billings. While in Billings, she met Charles Russell, the western artist.

In 1916 she moved to Newcastle with her brother, A. D. Flores and family. She took a homestead of her own on the Cheyenne River.

July 25, 1917 she married William H. Kruse in Thermopolis, Wyo. They resided at their ranch north of Lance Creek until they retired in 1948, when they moved to Lusk. Mr. Kruse died in March 1965.

Her brothers, S. F. "Rack", A. Delbert, Hosea and Tim, preceded her in death.

Survivors are the sons, A. D. Flores, and three grandchildren.

Out of town niece and nephews present for the funeral services were: Delbert Flores of Torrington; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Hutchison of Spearman, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. George Cannon of Amarillo, Tex.; and Mrs. Roscoe I. Flores, Torrington.
