Funeral services for Alma Krein, age 84, of Lusk were held Friday afternoon, 2:00 P.M., at the NCHS Auditorium in Lusk with pastor Gary Walker officiating. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery. Mrs. Krein passed away on Monday in Casper.

Alma (Orman) Krein was born November 14, 1915, to Gottlieb and Katharina Orman in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm and attended the New Home country school, graduating from the eighth grade in 1930. The family raised turkeys and farmed. Alma enjoyed doing needlepoint, crochet and embroidery. She played the piano and played in the church choir.

On May 12, 1940, she married Gust Krein at the Zion Congregational Church in Turtle Lake, North Dakota. Her and Gust's first home was near Turtle, North Dakota. To this union were born 12 children, seven sons and five daughters. Survivors include her daughters. Leola Morrell and her husband Nick of Torrington, Wyoming; Lila Owren of Rawlins, Wyoming; Wanda Brown of Kingman, Arizona; Karen Jassman of Lusk, Wyoming; and Kathy Wedemeyer and husband Steve of Lusk, Wyoming. Her sons, Gary and wife Judy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Larry of Riverton, Wyoming; Darold and wife Patty of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Johnny and wife Jan of Lusk, Wyoming, and Dwight and his wife Shelly of Lusk, Wyoming. Twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, her sister Mary Fuller and brother Ed Orman both of Turtle Lake, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Gust in 1987, two sons Lester and Darvin, two grandchildren, one brother and one sister and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Niobrara County Senior Center.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
