Last Rites Held For Donald Keys

Funeral Services for Donald C. Keys, who died January 31 were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Peet Mortuary with the Rev. Harold Brink officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Jugler, Jack Larson, James Norris, Robert Norris, Clayton Sides and Dwayne Peterson. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Olinger, Archie Huey, Roy Turnbull, H. L. Gautschi, Bud Cantwell, Graydon Hoblit and Frank Barcal.

Music was furnished by Mrs. J. P. Watson at the organ and by Lee Johnsonbaugh, Mark Lohr, James Willson and Robert Reichert singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden."

Donald Keys was born July 1, 1904, and reared on his father's ranch located northeast of Newcastle. He attended country school at Beaver Creek, the high school at Newcastle and the University at Lincoln, Nebr. He lived in Milwaukee, Wis., Redlands, Calif., and Denver before settling in Lusk in 1928.

He married Wyome Alter July 15, 1933, in Hot Springs, S. Dak. They were the parents of three children, Donald L. Keys of Denver, Eugene Keys of Casper, Wyo., and Avanell Howe of Merritt Island, Fla.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lusk, and had been employed by the State Highway Department for 25 years.

His greatest enjoyment was being with his wife, children and grandchildren. He liked to get out in the Wyoming hills and plains, rock hounding and fishing.

Other than his widow and three children, he is survived by his mother, Isabel Keys of Lusk, two sisters, Beulah L. Norris of Lusk and Kathleen Turner of Long Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren.

His father, LeRoy Keys, a brother, Newell Keys and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Keys, died previously.
