Antranig Vartan Kazandjiian
Husband of former Resident dies in Egypt
Antranig Vartan Kazandjian, husband of Edna Lohr, died February 25, while visiting his brother in Cairo, Egypt.
Antranig, eldest son of Vartan and Araxi Kazandjian, was born on October 19, 1927 in Cairo, Egypt. He received his schooling there and took over and successfully ran the family jewelry business when his father died in 1951.
On January 21, 1962, in ceremony at the Armenian Orthodox Church in Cairo, he married Edna Lohr who was employed with the U.S. Embassy there.
In April of 1962 he immigrated to the U.S. and the couple made their home in California. On May 1, 1963 their daughter, Roxane was born.
For many years Antranig owned and operated a liquor store and more recently was employed as a manager of fine jewelry for Finlay Corporation.
Burial services were held in Cairo on February 26 and a memorial service was held at the Armenian Orthodox Church in Monteville, California on March 5.
Antranig was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife Edna, and daughter, Roxane, of Whittier, California and his brother Varoujan Kazandjian of Cairo, Egypt.
