Mary Bernadine Alter
Mary Bernadine Alter, age 80, died March 31, 1999 at the Life Care Center of Casper. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date in Lusk, Wyoming.
She was born March 23, 1919 in Elmo, Missouri to Orville and Ollie (Horn) Macrander. She married Vernon Peterson on September 7, 1938; they had two children, Patricia L. Jugler and Dwayne E. Peterson, both of Casper. Vernon was killed in an accident in 1944. She later married Delmar L. Alter on January 9, 1948; they have three daughters: Aleta V. Scott of Rapid City, South Dakota; Bette L. Alter of Carlsbad, California, and L. Coleen Palmer of Casper.
Del and Bernie made their home on a ranch north of Lusk, Wyoming until he died on June 20, 1991.
She enjoyed traveling, quilting and knitting, but her great love was painting; many have enjoyed and admired her talent.
Survivors include her five children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
