Marty "Moe" Joss

Funeral services for Marty "Moe" Joss, 31, were Thursday 14, 1996, at the Congregational Church in Lusk with Gary Walker, founder of the Rodeo Bible Camp at La Grange officiating. Poems were read by Brad Coy; one of which Marty wrote and one his dad Phil wrote as a tribute to a special friend, National Finals Rodeo saddle bronc rider Deke Latham, who was also killed at a very young age. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery after his final ride in a horse-drawn wagon belonging to and driven by his uncle, Lloyd Quintard. Memorials are to benefit his children and may be sent to Key Bank in Torrington.

He died Nov. 9, as a result of an auto accident. He was born Dec. 28, 1964, in Casper to Phil and Barb Joss. Two older sisters, Judy and Kaylene welcomed him home. Home was the 20 Mile Ranch west of Lance Creek. He graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk in 1983 and attended college at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington for one year. He married Teresa McIntosh Nov. 24, 1988, at his parents' home in Lusk. His greatest loves were his family and rodeo. He rode bulls throughout high school and in 1982 he qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals. In college, he was a member of the rodeo team and he went on to the professional level and was a member of the Wyoming Rodeo Association and qualified for the state finals. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was employed at Holly Sugar Company in Torrington. He recently had owned a backhoe service. He loved to come home and help his dad with the cattle and in the oil field. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Leola Joss; his maternal grandparents, Merril and Gertie Quintard; grandmother Pegg Joss, and niece Jessica Leigh James.

Survivors include his wife of Torrington; children Kasey, Kyle, Keely and Kami of Torrington; sisters Kaylene and Judy both of Lusk; his parents of Lusk; grandpa Art Joss of Douglas; four nephews, six nieces, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. Pallbearers were his uncle, Bruce Quintard; cousins, Casey Quintard, Cory Serres, Shawn Hall and Trey Beghtol; and brothers-in-law David James, Bruce Himes and Dallas McIntosh.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
