Last Rites Held for Buck Jordan

Funeral services for Raymond Edwin "Buck" Jordan were conducted last Thursday March 21, from St. Mary's Catholic Church at Harrison. Burial was Friday at the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, S. Dak.

Colors were presented in Harrison by members of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Pallbearers were cousins of Mr. Jordan - Connie and Allen Jordan of Harrison, Edward and Richard Jordan of Crawford, and Jack and Dean Hunter of Ardmore.

Mr. Jordan was born July 16, 1904 at Harrison the son of Oressa Hunter and Robert Jordan. He died March 18 at the Crawford Hospital following a stroke on March 13.

His early life was spent at the family ranch in the Whitman area of eastern Wyoming. He attended school at Harrison and later served his country during World War II. In later years he resided with his mother in Harrison where he was engaged in the carpentry trade.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Oressa Jordan, Harrison; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah (Rudy) Hartman of Casper, Mrs. Bernice (Quinton) Sampont, Wallace, Ida., Mrs. Margaret (Bunny) Chard and a brother Dan of the Whitman community.

Nieces and nephews include: Mrs. Bobbee (John) Magan, Denver, Mrs. Carol (Durl) Holtz, Lusk, Sherry Jordan and Jack Sankey, North Hollywood, Calif., Dale Jordan, Whitman, Mrs. Sharon (Neil) Mohr, Miss Margo Sampont, and Mrs. Janet (Dean) Peterson, all of Wallace, Ida..
