Stanley Johnson, 75, Dies

The funeral for Stanley Arnold Johnson, 75, was Wednesday, July 19, at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk. Johnson died last Saturday after an extended illness.

He came to Wyoming in the early 30s and later was mail carrier on the Kirtley route for 30 years.

Johnson married Lillian Doubek in Dec. 1936. He worked on various ranches and did carpenter work before becoming a mail carrier. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Lusk and the Rural Mail Carriers Association.

His wife, one brother, two sisters and his parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his two daughters, Donna Hotchkiss of Gillette and Betty Mayworm of Fort Pierre, S.D.; one brother, Frank Olson of Stillman Valley, Ill.; two sisters, Helen Folkerts of Rockford, Ill., and Lila Johnson of Grants Pass, Ore. Five grandchildren also survive.

The Rev. Ron Marshall officiated at the funeral and music was provided by Edna DeCastro on the organ and Mark Lohr vocalist who sang "Peace in the Valley."

Pallbearers were Lester Lewis, Charles Canfield, Art Verick, Clifford Ferris, Richard Schnorenberg and Julian Phipps.

Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
