Rindy Dawn Jensen

Rindy Dawn Jensen was born to this earth and called home to eternal life on Friday, December 7, 2001 at 6:14 p.m. She was laid to rest on Thursday, December 11, 2001 in the Lusk Cemetery.

Rindy is the youngest daughter of Casey and Tammie Jensen and the sister of Cortney, Cooper and Amber Si Jensen. Her grandparents are Si and Rosamond West and Don and Algera Jensen and her great grandparents are Elmer and Billie Nelson. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear family friends.

Our baby girl was a gift to us and a great teacher
We learned patience and compassion
We were given a crash course in values-
Things that once seemed so important
All at once became meaningless.
There was a depth to our souls, our beings-
A learning, a wisdom, and understanding.
We will never be the same
We made decisions of monumental importance.
We explained death to a small child
With wide eyes and eager, pointed questions,
We ourselves had touched death-
Death that came wrapped in a little blanket
With lambs and bunnies on it.
Death was not frightening
It was soft and smelled of baby lotion
We discovered friends we never knew and
Developed stronger bonds with old friends and family.
We learned we had to communicate with each other.
We learned we were very different and exactly the same.
We learned how to let go and go on.
All these things were taught to us by a teacher
Who never spoke a word or taught a class
And weighed exactly 6 pounds and 5 ounces.

A private family service was held at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk of Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Children's section of the Niobrara County Library in Lusk or a charity of the donor's choice.
