Hans Jensen, Former Resident. Dies in Denver February 8
Hans A. Jensen, 54, of Aurora, Colo., former resident of Lusk, died February 8 at General Rose Hospital in Denver while undergoing heart surgery for the second time.
He was the son of the late Mrs. Chris (Sena) Christensen of Kirtley. He worked for a number of years for the late Joe Miller in Lusk, as a truck driver for the Northern Transfer, and also as a butane truck driver. He also was employed by the Buckinham Transportation Company and the Russell Transportation Co., covering much of Wyoming, western Nebraska, South Dakota and northern Colorado.
During World War II he spent two years in Alaska as a heavy duty equipment operatror, on the Alcan Highway and in the Aleutian Islands.
For a number of years before he became ill, he was mechanical superintendent for the Ringsby Rocket Lines in Denver.
Born at Aberdeen, S. D., on July 24, 1912, he spent his early boyhood in LaPorte, Ind., and came to Lusk in the early 30's.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Jensen of Aurora, a son, Jerry Vern Jensen of Golden, two brothers, S. B. (Red) Jensen of Rushville, Nebr., and Ted W. Jensen, USN, Chula Vista, Calif., two grandchildren, Valerie Kaye and Neil Eric Jensen both of Golden, two nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Aurora-Chase Mortuary in Aurora, Colo. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
