William I. Allender
William I. Allender, 55, 608 S. Vine, died Wednesday. He was born Oct. 5, 1929, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to Iliff and Mary Yound Allender.
Mr. Allender was raised at Lusk, where he graduated from high school in 1947. He served in the United States Air Force for 13 years before coming to North Platte in 1969. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman and was later promoted to brakeman.
Survivors include his wife, Marion of North Platte, Nebr., two sons, David of North Platte and Carl Fresorger of Mount Rose, Colo.; three daughters, Susan G. Lewis of Mesa, Ariz., Cindy Allender of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lauralei Hernandez of Barstow, Calif.; one sister, Betty (Mrs. Dean) Long of Lynch and five grandchildren.
Memorial services were Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Tabler Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Colleen Lehnus of the Unity Church of Omaha officiating.
