Accident claims on life Monday
A one-vehicle rollover about two miles north of Harrison at about 11:58 a.m. Monday has claimed the life of a Mitchell, Neb., man.
According to Sioux County Sheriff James Robertson, Steven K. Jones, 45, of Mitchell, was driving northbound on Highway 29 when he topped a grade and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. He apparently lost control of the pickup and it rolled about one and one half times, coming to rest on its top. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Seatbelts were not in use.
A passenger, Keith Jones, 22, also of Mitchell, was transported to Crawford Hospital by the Sioux County Ambulance Service where he was kept overnight for observation and treatment of cuts and bruises. Steven Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
