Tuesday, Aug. 14, funeral services were held at the Faith Baptist Church in Guernsey for Marguerite Ellen Mary Johnson, 81. Rev. Ship Hansen officiated. Burial was made in the Prairie Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson passed away Aug. 8, 1990 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
She was born Nov. 13, 1908 at Samilac County, Mich., the daughter of Ernest L. and Maude (Finnerty) Murrart. When she was three years old, the family moved to Sunrise, Wyo., where she was reared and educated, graduating in 1927.
She was united in marriage to Walter R. Johnson in Gering, Neb. on June 26, 1937. The couple engaged in the ranching business north of Hartville for 47 years, moving to Guernsey in 1984. She was a charter member of the Meadowdale Women's Club which organized in 1944.
She is survived by her husband, Walter and one daughter, Jean Romero, both of Guernsey; three cousins; Lyle Covington of Casper; Kathleen and Marie Brandenberry, both of Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack, two brothers and her parents.
A memorial has been established to the Guernsey Ambulance Fund.
