Former Lusk resident Kenneth Ives killed
The funeral for Kenneth E. Ives Jr., son of Kenneth and Mary Ives, formerly of Lusk, was conducted at his home in Salem. Ore. Dec. 19. Ives died Dec. 12. Ives was accidentally shot by his youngest son who was handling a gun when it discharged fatally wounding his father. Burial was at Jerome, Idaho, his parents' home. Ives was born Oct. 6, 1933.
At the age of 12 Ives was stricken with polio, which left him with a crippled leg. He worked in Lusk, adjusting office equipment for a number of years and also lived in Scottsbluff where he was employed by the Western Office Equipment Company.
Besides his wife Martie, sons Kevin and Kary and daughter Gale, who is a student at Chadron College, Ives is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ives Sr., and a brother Wayne Ives.
Word of the death was received in Lusk by Walter and Edna Schnorenberg. They were neighbors of the Ives family when they lived in Lusk in the early 40s. Ives drove for Buckingham at that time and later retired as a driver for the Co-Op in Scottsbluff.
