William Irvin, 80, Buried in Buffalo
Funeral services for William Paxton Irvin, 80, were held Monday at the Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo. He died last Thursday in his home in Buffalo.
"Pax" as he was known by his many friends, was a pioneer Wyoming rancher. At one time he lived on a ranch now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Bredthauer, northwest of Lusk. He competed in the first Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in 1896, winning second in calf roping.
He was born July 15, 1888, on the Ogallala Ranch in Converse County. He attended schools in Cheyenne.
He is survived by his widow, Villa and two sons, Van of Cheyenne and Bill of Casper. Two children died previously.
