Services for Mrs. Hughes Held Feb. 23
Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Hughes of Meridian, Ida., a former Lusk resident, were held at the Church of Christ at Oakdale, Nebr., February 23, with the Rev. Dale Williamson of Lexington and Alvin Schwarting, pastor at Oakdale in charge. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Hughes was born on a farm west of Oakdale, September 29, 1901, the daughter of William and Jane Adams. She married William Hughes at Neligh in 1917 and they were the parents of six children. They lived most of their married life in the Oakdale community. After Mr. Hughes' death, she moved to Meridian to make her home. She lived in Lusk while her son, Billy, was pastor of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Dean of Neligh, Billy of Portland, Ore., Neil of the U.S. Marine Corps., Kenneth of the U.S. Navy; a daughter, Mrs. Raime Fosher of Lusk; her mother, Mrs. Jane Adams of Oakdale; five brothers and 15 grandchildren. One son, Floyd, died while a missionary in the Bahama Islands.
