Merta Elizabeth Hubbard

Merta Hubbard Dies in Calif.

Merta Elizabeth Blair Hubbard, a sister of Mrs. Frank Harris of Jay Em, died at Los Angeles, Calif., July 11.

Rosary was recited at the Olinger Mortuary in Denver July 14 at 7:00 p.m. with funeral service at the Notre Dame Church at 9:30 a.m. July 15. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris was with Mrs. Hubbard at the time of her death as were her daughter Janice and granddaughter Linda. They accompanied the body to Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harris of Torrington attended the service and brought Mrs. Harris to Jay Em with them.

Mrs. Hubbard was born to Mantha A. and Arthur Blair at the Demmons Ranch, south of Lusk. She attended rural schools and schools in Torrington and Lusk. She graduated from Torrington High School and attended the University of Wyoming. She taught school for some time including the school at Jay Em. After her marriage she resided in Lusk and Lance Creek. She later moved to Los Angeles and resided there until the time of her death.

She is survived by her daughter Janice and four grandchildren of Denver; three brothers and four sisters, Cyrus Blair of Willcox, Ariz., Harry Blair of Kennewick, Wash, Florence Harris, Jay Em, Fred Blair, Whites Creek, Tenn., Artie Crane, Balboa, Canal Zone, Panama, Mary Vaughan, Centralia, Wash., Ruth Johnson, Lacy, Wash.
