Lucille Howell Dies January 14
Mrs. Lucille E. Howell, 61, of southern Sioux County and former rural school teacher of the county, died January 14 at a Scottsbluff hospital. Funeral services were held January 17 at First Presbyterian Church in Morrill with Dr. John Magyar officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Morrill.
Mrs. Howell was born December 20, 1906 in Ames, Neb., and that at an early age moved with her parents to Sterling, Colo., where she attended school until the sixth grade. She then moved to Gering where she completed her education and later taught school.
She married Herbert W. Howell Dec. 23, 1930, in Gering and they lived at the family home north of Morrill since that time.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morrill and the Morrill Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 280.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Harry H. and Bruce W. Howell, both of Morrill; a daughter Mrs. Jean Ann Clingman of Guernsey, Wyo.; two brothers, Don Abraham of Mitchell and Glenn Abraham of Laramie; one sister, Harriett Berry of Mitchell; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.
