Graveside services are pending and cremation has taken place for former Niobrara County resident Donald M. Hoffman, 76, who died June 16, 1997, at the Carson-Tahoe (Nev.) Hospital in Carson City, Nev., after a lengthy illness.
Memorials are to the Blue Envelope Health Fund.
He was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Harrison, Neb., to John and Edna (Ring) Hoffman. He grew up on the family ranch in the Hat Creek area. He graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk in 1939 and served in the Army during World War II.
He worked for Continental Oil Company and True Drilling Co., and lived in Casper for 32 years before moving to Carson City, Nev.
Survivors include his wife of Carson City; daughter Kim Brattis of Casper; sister Eileen Brus of Buffalo; three grandsons; one niece; two nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester Hoffman.
