Lawrence James Hess
L.J. Hess, Former Resident Here, Dies
Lawrence James Hess, former resident of Sioux County, died May 5 in Puyallup, Wash. Funeral services were held there May 9 with interment at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup.
Mr. Hess was 64 being born at Correctionville, Ia. on February 8, 1903 to James and Rhoda Hess. He later moved with his parents to Sioux County where he resided for a number of years before moving to Chadron where he was employed by the C.& N.W. Railway.
In 1947 he and his family moved to Puyallup where he was a machinist for the Northern Pacific Railway at Auburn.
Survivors include his wife, Ella; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Pederson of Puyallup, and Mrs. Lois Morgan and a grandson of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Grant of Swan Lake, Mont., and Mrs. Hazel Fessler of Oakland, Calif.
