Funeral services for Alvin D. Haase, 74, were held Tuesday, July 9, 1991, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Torrington with Rev. Marilyn McGraw officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Memorial gifts to the church or the American Heart Association would be equally appreciated by the family.
Haase died Friday, July 5, 1991, in a Casper, Wyo., hospital. He was born July 10, 1916, near Lincoln, Neb., the son of Frank Charles and Rachael (Sawyer) Haase and he received his education near Lincoln and at Prairie Home School near Harrison, Neb., where the family later moved.
He married Wilma Newman at Harrison Oct. 25, 1941, and they were longtime northern Goshen County ranchers near the Prairie Center area. They retired west of Torrington in 1979.
He was a member of the Methodist Church; a longtime member of the Wyoming Farm Bureau and Wyoming Stock Growers' Association and a 4-H leader. He was also active in the Wyoming Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Torrington; two sons, Keith Alvin Haase of Bremerton, Wash. and Charles Hiram Haase of Lakewood, Colo.; five daughters, Karen Ann Hartung of Torrington, Betty Lou Malamaire of Chandler, Ariz., Eunice Irene Azbill of Mesa, Ariz., Joyce Ellen Peterson of Wheatland and Lorraine Kay Terrell of Gillette; three brothers, Gale Haase of Casper, Melvin Haase of Scottsbluff, Neb. and Frank Haase of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sisters, IsaBelle Selby of Lupton, Mich. and Viola Kriesel of Gurley, Neb., 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
