Edgar Fletcher, 94 Dies Monday
Edgar Aden Fletcher, 94, died Monday morning at the Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas. He had made his home in Lusk with his daughter, Mrs. Del Sylvester until January 3, when he was taken to the nursing home.
Funeral services were being held this Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel in Lusk, with burial in the Lusk cemetery.
Ronald Brown of the Church of Christ of Lusk officiated. Mrs. J. P. Watson furnished the organ music and accompanied Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt as they sang "Beautiful Isle" and In The Garden."
Casket bearers were Milton Himes, Eddie Plumb, Denny Dobson, Clarence Hubbard, George Sylvester and Ray Olafson.
Mr. Fletcher was born July 17, 1873 at Thurman, Iowa, the son of Abraham Fletcher and Melissa Surface.
He married Mary Ann Clarence, April 16, 1896. She died in 1945.
He was a United Brethern Evangelical minister for many years in the Oakdale and Nehawka Nebraska areas.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Lusk and had recently been baptized into the Church of Christ
A son and one daughter died previously.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Del Sylvester, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
