Maxine Marie Parker, age 75, of Edgemont, S.D., died Monday, May 15 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Maxine was born in Dudley, at home on February 19, 1931. She was an active member of the community and worked extensively with the Edgemont Alumni Association. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hesperian Rebekahs, and the Hot Springs Unified Encampment. Maxine was always ready to help where needed. She will be sadly missed by everyone.
Maxine's greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Harry Parker of Edgemont, S.D.; three brothers, Bill Morrison of Edgemont, S.D.; Dennis Hudson of Topeka, KS; Bob Hudson of Provo, Utah; sister, Charlene Isendorf of Roseburg, Ore.; five children Carmine (Deb) Girone of Lusk; Tony Girone of Toms River, NJ; Mary (Don) Kellogg of Edgemont, S.D.; Angel Hull of Sterling, Colo.; Laura (Ron) Matthews of Lusk, one adopted daughter, Irma Harrod of Edgemont, S.D.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Edgemont, S.D., with Reverend Marion Grey and Reverend Floyd Mills officiating. Committal services will follow at the Edgemont Cemetery.
