Services for Henry "Heine" J. Herbers, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1991, in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with the Pastor Paul Hebbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Herbers died Friday, Aug. 16, 1991, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 29, 1912 at Petersburg, Neb., to Henry J. and JoHanna (Stallman) Herbers. He grew up in Stuart, Neb. As a young man he moved to Iowa where he worked on a farm. In 1938, he moved to Wyoming and was a ranch hand on many places, including the Tim Divine Ranch, Billy Miller Ranch, Henry Petz Ranch, Dan Hanson's parents' ranch, Ben and Mary Spaethe Ranch and Henry and Elizabeth Kaan Ranch and Len Christians Ranch (local ranchers at the time).

He married Eva Hortense May 4, 1943 in Gering, Neb. He and his wife kept house on the Horseshoe Ranch for a time. He later worked at The Lutheran Hospital Home Society in Lusk for 22 years until his retirement in 1975 due to health reasons.

He helped build the Open Bible Church in Lusk and served as secretary/treasurer of the Sunday School for 10 years. He gave his heart to Jesus on April 9, 1949.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Al, Alphonse and Edward.

Survivors include his wife, Eva, of Lusk; two brothers, Robert (Mary Ann) of Nashville, Tenn., Raymond (Jean) of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Louise Lovett of Sturgeon, Mo., Frances Scruggs of Portland, Ore. and Rose Chase of Kent, Ohio and nephew and nieces.

For those who want, memorials may be directed to the Niobrara Senior Center or the Niobrara Memorial Nursing Home.
