Marion Mae Hennebeck
Marion Mae Hennebeck, 90, died December 19, 2000 at the Lifecare Center in Longmont, Colorado, where she was a resident for ten years.
Marion was born July 4, 1910 in Highbridge, Iowa to John and Marion (Glenn) Grant. She was educated in the area and in the early 1930's moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming. She taught school in the Hot Springs County rural schools. She met Adolph "Slim" Hennebeck and they were married in Casper, WY on January 20, 1935. They made their home in Hamilton Dome, WY until 1949 when they moved to Lance Creek, WY. In 1955 they retired to Brush, where they operated a Ben Franklin store until the early 1970's
Marion was active in the Eastern Star and the Senior Centers in Thermopolis and Brush. She was a member of the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Bruch. She enjoyed the mountains, fishing and hiking. She relished family activities and times spent together.
Marion is survived by three children; Merna Mae Reed and her husband, Samuel, of Lusk, WY, Kathleen Hammond and her husband, James, of Grand Junction, CO, and Lyle B. Hennebeck of Hutchinson, MN, and nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1981 and a granddaughter, Marla Kay Hennebeck in 1999.
Graveside services will be held December 29 at 1:00 PM at the Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis, WY. Memorial donations may be made to the Hot Springs County Senior Center, 206 Senior Avenue, Thermopolis, WY 82443 or the Brush Senior Center at Centennial Manor, 612 Ray, Brush, CO. Heer Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
