George Heckelbech Dies Here Saturday
George Heckelbech, 80, of Lusk, died Saturday evening in the Spencer Hospital from a heart involvement. Rosary services were held Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. from the Peet Chapel. Mass was held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from St. Leo's Catholic Church, with Father M. J. McBrien officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Orval Allen, Martin Glandt, William Glandt, Ray Heckert, Earl Heckert and A. C. Tibbits.
George Phillip Heckelbech was born December 6, 1877 in Centralia, Ill. the son of George J. and Pauline Heckelbech. The family moved to St. Louis when he was nine.
He married Caroline Brewer of St. Louis in 1908 and came to Wyoming in the spring of 1909 where he homesteaded 18 miles east of Lusk. Mr. and Mrs. Heckelbech moved to Lusk in 1944 where they have since resided.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Mary Killgore, Torrington; Mrs. Rosie Glandt, Torrington and Mrs. Mabel Haase, Cedaredge, Colo. Eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. C. Heldorfer and Mrs. Albert Haag both of St. Louis also survive.
