John Hassed Dies In Illinois July 4
John Milton Hassed, 47, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Lusk, died Saturday, of a coronary July 4, while vacationing with his family in Wheaton, Ill. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Wheaton with the Haner Hoff Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in the Wheaton Cemetery.
He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hassed at Lusk, December 26, 1922. He completed his elementary schooling and two years of high school before moving with his family to Wheaton in the late thirties. He served overseas in World War II. After his discharge from the service he attended the University of Illinois and graduated in business management.
His parents and two brothers died previously.
Survivors include his widow Ellie, one daughter Mollie and one son John Jr. of the family home, one sister, Mrs. Helen Louise Vickery of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Charles Robert of Wheaton and several nieces and nephews.
Word of his death was received by Miss Bessie Lumsden of Lusk.
