A memorial service will be held for Timothy James Boyd, 45, at the Elks Lodge in Lusk, Wyo. on Feb. 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. Ashes to be placed at a later date.
Tim died on Feb. 6, 2006, in Lusk. Born Feb. 19, 1960, in Highland Park, Mich., he was the youngest of three children of James (Red) Boyd and Jeanne C. Montange Boyd. He had two older sisters, Connie and Gaile.
He grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Mich., where his father worked for Chrysler Corporation and his mother was a stay at home Mom.
He grew up loving sports. His father played for the Detroit Lions in the 1930's. Tim started playing hockey in Grade School for Caesar Junior Wings. He played hockey all the way through high school. In high school he also played football and wrestled. The highlight of his football career was that he scored one touchdown. He excelled in wrestling. He was Michigan State Wrestling Champion in his weight class during his junior year of high school. He was awarded a wrestling scholarship, but due to a knee injury during his senior year, he was unable to use it.
He was a loyal Detroit sports fan following the Lions, Pistons and especially the Detroit Red Wings.
After graduating from Rochester Adams High School and being in the National Honor Society, he attended college at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., majoring in Business Administration.
In the 1980's he opened and managed several Robby's Department Stores. From 1992 to 1997, he worked for Convergent Media Systems where he was responsible for installing and service repair for 136 school satellite systems. From January 1998 through October 1998 he worked for the National Missing Children's Locate Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Which consisted of fund raising, awareness programs and fingerprinting of children.
After moving to Lusk, he worked for Telecom Printing Solutions whose job was to make plastic printed parts for pay phones worldwide. After joining the Elks Lodge in Lusk, he took great delight helping the DOES Organization with the Kid Care I. D. Program.
He married Sonya Boyd in 1993, and they were parents of son Taylor James Boyd and daughter Trenna Jeanne Boyd, and later divorced.
On July 4, 1999, he married Robyn Tollman Boyd in Lusk.
Survivors include his wife, Robyn Boyd of Lusk; his son Taylor and daughter Trenna of Marshal, Wis., three step-sons; Chris Ellington, Richard Cashon, and Robert Cashon all from Scottsbluff, Neb.; two step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Rex Tollman, Glenn Taylor, Clay Ritter, Paul Swartz, Jerry Hansen.
