Mr. Story died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, after a long and bravely fought battle with cancer and several complications.
He was born July 12, 1932, in Frye, the son of Thomas Orva and Rose Agnes (Roberts) Story. He received his schooling in Orin and Douglas. Jim worked at various jobs in Casper before becoming an electrician. He combined his electrical skills with ranching northeast of Lusk with his wife, Irene, of 55 years. He always enjoyed a friendly horseshoe rivalry with his family. He and his faithful dog, Tazzy, found great delight in riding a four-wheeler together while scouting for rabbits.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, of Lusk; two children, Christy Pilcher and husband Howard and Larry Story and wife Linda all of Casper; three sisters, Rose Marie Pearson, Mary Meinzeer and husband Kenneth, and Betty Snyder all of Casper; and two grandchildren, Crystal Loranc and husband Michael of Cheney, Wash and Patrick Story of Casper.
Serving as pallbearers were Patrick Story, Michael Loranc, Mark Esau, Clay Esau, Gary Meinzer and Kenneth Paul Meinzer.
The family would appreciate a memorial to the choice of the donor.
