Funeral Services for Mrs. Lohr's Father
Funeral services were held last Wednesday for Roy Handel, father of Mrs. Walter Lohr of Lusk at Wauneta, Neb. He was found dead in his home, October 3.
Roy Handel was born February 16, 1889, to Albert and Mary Elizabeth Handel, at Milford, Nebr.
He was married, June 10, 1928 to Ora Elma Blackledge of Alma, Nebr. They were the parents of three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Lohr of Lusk; Mrs. Nelda Hallner of Grand Island, Nebr.; and Miss Linda Handel of Wallace, Nebr.
He served in World War I in France, was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 304 of Wauneta and was adjutant at one time. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. LEA Encampment No. 130, is a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Handel retired from farming nine years ago.
Survivors besides his three daughters are two sisters, Rosa Handel and Nora Handel, both of Wauneta, one brother, Raymond Handel of McCook, Nebr., and two grandsons, Roy and David Lohr of Lusk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
