Billie Baker Nelson

A memorial service for Billie Nelson, 88, was held Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the First Baptist Church in Lusk, and Pastor Gary Walker officiated. Interment followed at Dell View Cemetery in Manville.

She passed away Dec. 11, 2005, at Cozy Corner.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Manville on Dec. 6, 1917, to Bennie and May (Wilson) Baker.

She married Elmer Nelson in Chadron, Neb., on July 3, 1935. Most of their lives were spent on the Nelson Ranch in Lance Creek. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in July of 2005. To this couple two children were born, Andy Nelson and Algera Jensen, both of Manville.

Billie is survived by her husband Elmer, son Andy and wife Gloria, Algera Jensen and the late Don Jensen; grandchildren Tod and wife Marilyn, Rod and wife Roxie, all of Lusk, Candy and husband Robert Sedlacek of Ely, Nev., Chris and wife Jenifer of Lance Creek, Carol and husband Bill Bell of Alliance, Neb., Casey and wife Tammie Jensen of Lusk, Connie and Wade Ayers of Tonopah, Nev.; great-grandchildren Brenda and Allen Chafin of Emmitt, Idaho, Joe and Kristy Sedlacek, Ely, Nev., Kenny and Jackie Jensen of Lusk, Chad and Val Bell, Alliance, Neb., Jamie and Jeff Lange, Kearney, Neb., Charlie and Courtney Bell of Gering, Neb., Cortney and Cooper Jensen of Casper, Amber Si Jensen, Lusk, Sara, T.J. and Jeb Ayers of Tonopah, Nev., Ryan, Dustin, Amy and Erin Nelson of Lusk, Jeremy and Penny Nelson, Laramie, Amanda Nelson, Casper; great-great-grandchildren Alexis Braden and Blake Chafin of Emmitt, Idaho, Emma Sigvartsen Jensen, Lusk.

Her greatest joy was spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Her parents, two sisters, Verna Baker and Fern Alameda, one brother Jim Baker and one great-granddaughter Rindy Dawn Jensen preceded her in death.

Memorials may be sent to Cozy Corner, Box 333, Lusk, WY 82225 or a charity of your choice. Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
