Mrs. Gillespie Dies February 13
Mrs. Leona Gillespie, 78, of Douglas, and mother of Claire Gillespie of Lance Creek, died February 13 at the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis, following a stroke. She had lived at the home for the past four years. Services were held last Thursday in the Douglas Methodist Church with Rev. Henry officiating with interment being made in the Torrington cemetery.
Pallbearers for the services were Ray Lovitt, Kenneth May, Jack Hanlin, Charlie Irwin, Bill Hall and Pete Curtin.
Mrs. Gillespie was born February 16, 1878 in Illinois. She was married to Harry Gillespie at Whitney, Nebr. on November 16, 1897. They were the parents of two sons.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1950.
She is survived by two sons, Claire of Lance Creek and Edwin of Artesia, New Mexico; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
