Mrs. Gilchrist Dies Saturday
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Grace Gilchrist, 81, of Lusk, Monday at the Peet Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. She died early Saturday morning at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Brink of the Open Bible Church of Lusk officiated. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt, accompanied by Mrs. DeCastro on the organ, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me." War Mother's services were also held.
Casket bearers were Ed Hales, Earle Townsend, Claude Selby, Reg Bafford, Eugene Willson and Charley Hitshew. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.
She was born July 7, 1886 at Lyons, Nebr., to Mr. and Mrs. James Trimble and married Earl K. Gilchrist, June 30, 1908 at Gan Valley, S. Dak. They were the parents of one son. They moved to Lusk in 1938 and established a wrecking yard.
For the past few years she has been living in an apartment at the Silver Cliff Hotel.
She was a member of the Silver Cliff Chapter of the American War Mothers, Lusk Congregational Church and the Congregational Circle.
Her husband and one son died previously.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. M. N. Johnson of Reno, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were here for the services.
