Memorial services where held Wednesday March 9. 1988 for Lawrence William Adams, 86, at the United Methodist Church in Harrison, NE. Rev Robert Bowne officiated. Burial was in the Harrison Cemetery. He died March 5 at his house near Van Tassell.

He was born December 20, 1901 at Geddes, SD to J.W. "Billy" and Bertha Mae Kellogg Adams.

In 1907 his family moved by immigrant car to Sioux County, Nebraska, where they homesteaded. He received his education in the Summit School located east of their homestead.

On June 23, 1929, Lawrence married Edna Eunice Barnes, They were the parents of five children; Joy Ruth, Eunice Mae, Lloyd LeRoy, Janice Edith and Joseph Mark.

In 1939 they bought the Don Pierce property in Niobrara County and in 1947 they also purchased part of the original Van Tassell ranch.

He loved his ranch home and spent many hours in his garden. He also enjoyed trips to South Dakota and Arkansas, as well as his many friends in the Harrison, Lusk and Crawford areas.

Survivors include two daughters, Joy Buckley of Harrison and Eunice Miller of Van Tassell; two sons, Lloyd Adams of Van Tassell and Joe Adams of Bruno, AR; one sister-in-law, Elva Adams of Harrison; one nephew, Harold Adams of Cascade, MT; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to either the Lusk Ambulance Fund or to the Harrison Ambulance Fund.

50th ANNIVERSARY OBSERVED HERE

About 200 friends and relatives gathered at the V.F.W. hall Saturday afternoon to help Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Adams celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The children of the couple, Joyce (Mrs. Ivol) Buckley, Eunice (Mrs. Dale) Miller, Lloyd Adams, and Joe Adams hosted the event.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nelson of Lake Andes, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Don Kellog of Spearfish, S.D., Mike Karnish of Omaha, Angela, Audrey and Arlene Adams of Casper and the children of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Adams of Chadron.
