Isabelle Helen Green

Funeral services for Isabelle Helen Green, age 83, were held Jan. 10, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with Rev. Max Bailey officiating. Interment followed at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery on Longmont, Colo. Mrs. Green died Jan. 6.

She was born July 15, 1910 in Manville, Wyo., the daughter of Nancy Egelhoff and A. A. Dieleman.

She attended Manville Schools and graduated from high school in Gresham, Neb. and the Business College in Grand Island, Neb.

It was in Grand Island where she met R. Harland Green, they married August 1, 1929 in Douglas, Wyo. Mr. Green died February 28, 1991.

In Grand Island, Mrs. Green worked for the J. C. Penny Co. and the telephone company.

In June of 1944 they moved to Longmont, Colo. and purchased half interest in the Ben Franklin Five and Dime Store. One year later they bought the other half.

In the spring of 1956 they closed the store and opened Green's Hallmark and Office Supply. Which they owned and operated until 1976 when they sold the business and retired.

Mrs. Green was involved with many business committees and was on the original "Heart of Longmont" Committee.

Mrs. Green loved downtown, working with people and "always" had a smile and something nice to say to everyone.

Mrs. Green belonged to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church for 40 years and served on the Alter Guild. She was also a member of St. Cecelia's Guild and Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son Steve of Longmont, Colo.; a daughter Carol and her husband Jim Dineen of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers, Art Dieleman, Frank McLean, Glenn McLean; a sister Ruth Dorr; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
