Orville Guffey Dies in Utah
Orville Richard Guffey, 57, died Sunday evening, Sept. 20, enroute to a hospital in Ogden, Utah. Funeral services and burial was in Brush, Colo.
He was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Moline, Kan., the son of Milton and Laura Guffey. He and Frances Jeffries were married on December 5, 1944, in eastern Kansas.
They came to Lusk over 15 years ago and he went to work for Niobrara Electric Association where he worked approximately 10 years. He left Lusk about four years ago and has been working as a psychiatric aid at the Wyoming State Hospital.
Survivors include his widow, Frances of Evanston; a brother Floyd of Brush, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Violet Eller, Smith Center, Kans.; and Miss Velma Guffey, Arkansas City. Kans.
In early August Mike Werner, a nephew the Guffeys reared for several years, and Mrs. Werner were killed in an auto accident. Mr. Werner had attended the Lusk schools. The couple are buried in Brush, Colo.
