Leo Henry Deitchler
Funeral service for former Keeline and Lusk resident Leo Henry Deitchler, 70, was held February 2 at Mortimore Chapel in Thermopolis where he had made his home since 1947. The Rev. Harley Pulis of the First Baptist Church of Thermopolis officiated.
Mr. Deitchler died January 27 at Tucson, Ariz., after a brief illness.
Born July 21, 1911, in Mills County, Iowa, he was the son of Gustave and Clara Deitchler. He came to Wyoming in 1931 and married Norma Dell Lee May 24, 1934, at Harrison. They moved to Thermopolis in 1947 where he was the operator of the Frontier Service Station which later became Leo's Husky. He retired in 1976 and spent his winters in Arizona.
Deitchler served on the selective service board for 10 years and was a member of the appeals board for the city planning commission in Thermopolis for a number of years. He was a member of B. P. O. Elks Lodge No. 1746.
In addition to his wife of Thermopolis, he is survived by one son Donald, Thermopolis, two daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Moore, Thermopolis and Mrs. Carol Julius, Rock Springs; two brothers Donald and Kenneth of Miles City, Mont.; three sisters Mrs. Laura Roberts, Broadus, Mont., Mrs. Alta Wismiller, Alliance, Nebr. and Mrs. Delores Huff, Worland; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Claude and Wayne and one daughter Sheryl Lee. Burial was in Monument Hill Cemetery and memorials may be sent to the Senior Citizens Center in care of the Mortimore Funeral Home.
Darlene Martin and Ruby Lee of Lusk and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bernbeck of Torrington attended the Deitchler funeral last week.
