The Party Is Over
If The Herald is any judge of the public's opinion, then Lusk will remain named Lusk.
Those that opposed the idea seem to like to belittle those that started the movement. This shouldn't be. The idea was proposed in good faith by a group of young men interested in the welfare of the community. As The Herald said in the lead of its first article about the proposed change, the idea was "new, bold". It was, and we are grateful that we have young, aggressive men in our community that have the imagination to come forth with new and bold ideas.
Because of the proposed change, Lusk received more publicity than it has since the last battleship sailed on the Niobrara River through the Town limits. That in itself was worth the effort. Yes, we believe that Lusk is going to remain Lusk, but we are grateful to the group that had the get-up-and-go to propose the name change. JBG Jr.
