Funeral Services for Mrs. Almira Rice

Mrs. Almira Rice passed away Friday, Oct. 16, at the Lusk Hospital following a lingering illness. The wife of Jesse L. Rice of Lusk, she had lived in Niobrara County for many years, first at Lance Creek and then in this city.

About two years ago, Mrs. Rice's health began to fail and since that time her condition has gradually become more serious until ten days ago when she was removed to the hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Peet Mortuary, with the Rev. P.H. Evans conducting the services. A mixed quartet, Misses Patricia Taylor and Yvonne Vogel and Ford B. Kuns and O.P. Harnagel sang three selections with Mrs. J.P. Watson accompanying on the organ. Pallbearers were old friends of the family: Harry Hargraves, C.E. Marvin, Leslie McCarthy, Darrell Bishop and Chris Joss. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery,

Almira Kincaid was born in Castila, Ia. March 12, 1876. While yet a child she professed faith in Christ and untied with the Methodist Church. In Dec. 24, 1900 she married Jesse L. Rice having been sweethearts from childhood. To them were born one daughter, Helen, now Mrs. Snyder. They lived in Kansas the first fourteen years of their married life, then moved to Valentine, Nebr. where they resided for five years before returning to their old home in Kansas.

They came to Wyoming in 1922 and located in the Lance Creek field. Mr. and Mrs. Rice moved to Lusk in the fall of 1929 where they have resided since.

She was 66 at the time of her death. In her normal life Mrs. Rice was active in the church as organist and singer. She Leaves behind her husband, her daughter, an uncle in Kansas and two nieces in Oklahoma.
