Andy R. Newcomb, age 86, of Lusk, passed away at Niobrara Health and Life Center Friday, June 3, 2011. No services are planned at this time.

Andy Robert Newcomb was born to Clyde E. and Mary (Gielenz) Newcomb in Long Pine, Neb., March 8, 1925. He attended school in Nebraska, but had to leave school at a young age.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII.

Andy came to Lusk in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Over the years in Lusk he was part owner of the Laundromat, worked as a substitute mail carrier, for the Town of Lusk at the landfill, and was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Velma Brinkerhoff, Irene Urie, and Alice Davis; and brothers Herman, Fred, Albert, and Earl Newcomb.

Andy is survived by his brothers Dean Newcomb of Manville, Wyo., and Carl (Phyllis) Newcomb of Woodstock, Georgia; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is handling arrangements.
