Albert Rabe dies Friday

Albert Rabe, 67, Harrison, died Friday in the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver. Funeral service was held Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Harrison with the Rev. Herbert Schuler officiating.

Albert Rabe was born July 13, 1915, in Plevan, Mont., the son of William and Elizabeth Rabe. He received his schooling at Plevna. As a young man he worked on ranches in Montana and Wyoming.

Mr. Rabe and Alice Grote were married in Harrison on August 30, 1940. They have made their home on a ranch seven miles northwest of Harrison since 1941.

Albert was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served as elder and was one of the leading members throughout the years. "He was a friend to all who knew him and he never refused to help anyone in need," said a close family member.

Funeral music was provided by Harold Heidemann of Kimbll who sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Dorothy Todd, organist.

Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Rabe. They were Dan Thielen, Matt Thielen, Dwanne Grote, Lee Engebretsen, Scott Grote and Bill Grote. Honorary pallbeareres were Joe Grote, Bill Engebretsen, Kevin Grote and Rodney Grote.

Mr. Rabe is suvived by his wife Alice; four sisters, Emma Parsons of Torrington, Tillie Thielen of Portland, Ore., Wanda Thielen of Miles City, Mont., and Betty Greive of Havre, Mont.; and a brother, J.B. Rabe of Harrison.
