Eli J. Ryan Dies At Mitchell

Funeral services were held at Mitchell on October 24 for Eli J. Ryan, 65, longtime Mitchell resident who died unexpectedly on the previous Friday.

Mr. Ryan was born Oct. 8, 1907, in the Curley community in Sioux County. He received his elementary education in Sioux County and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1926. He married Nettie Godbey February 13, 1930, in Mitchell. He had worked for the J.W. Mitchell Meat Market in Mitchell from 1928 until his death.

Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Larry of Henry and Bruce of Chadron; a daughter, Mrs. Don Loos of Scottsbluff; two brothers, Dillard of Mitchell and Floyd of Redding, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Lindquist of Cheyenne, Wyo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial has been established to the West Nebraska General Hospital Coronary Care Unit.
