Nora May Robinson

Former Niobrara County resident Nora May Robinson, 84, was dead on arrival Monday at West Park County Hospital in Cody.

Mrs. Robinson, who had been living near Meeteetse outside of Cody, came to Niobrara County at the age of 18 when she homesteaded in the Flat Top area near Keeline.

She was born June 27, 1885, at Grant City, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Ellen Sorenson Smith.

When she was a small child, the family moved to Minnesota, where she attended school before moving to Wyoming in 1903.

She was married to Charles Robinson in 1917 and they moved to Cody in 1947. They moved to Greybull in 1973.

Mr. Robinson died in 1977 and a year later his wife moved to the Sleeper Ranch near Meeteetse to live with her son, Charles, and his wife.

In addition to her son, she is survived by a brother, J.W. Smith of New Mexico; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated at a Thursday service at Peet Mortuary. Edna DeCastro was the organist and Joy Kaltenheuser was the soloist. They performed "How Great thou Art" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Burial was at Lusk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Elmer Johnson, Malcomb and Marvin Hammer, Gordon Berg, Wayne Tollman and Edward Hughes.
