Former Resident Frank Reed Dies Fri.
Frank W. Reed, 83, of Salem, Ore. died Friday at the Salem Nursing home.
He was born in Shelby, Iowa, moving to Wyoming when a young man. Living south of Lusk and was better known to his friends here as "Potato Reed." Mr. Reed moved to Oregon 15 years ago and farmed in the Zena area northwest of Salem before moving into Salem a year ago.
Survivors include his widow, Bessie Reed, a step-son O. E. Holcomb of Salem; a step-daughter, Mrs. Maxine Erickson of Denver; three sisters Mrs. Florence Griggs and Mrs. Nell Skinner, both of Gordon, Nebr. and Mrs. Clara Perry of Woodland, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Reed of Gordon, Nebr. and John Reed of Venice, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Barrick Funeral Home, with burial in Belcrest Cemetery.
