Marion Dean "Murph" Murphy

Funeral services for Marion Dean "Murph" Murphy, 64, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bustards Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. Fred Capshaw.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. August 2, 2000 at Riverside Cemetery in Cody.

He died July 29, 2000, from a short battle with lung cancer. He was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Calaway, Neb. the son of Leo Wilson and Hazel Rose (Valentine) Murphy.

He was employed as an oil field worker and was also a cowboy. He enjoyed hunting, ranching, fishing. His family says that he also enjoyed rodeoing, driving cattle and running wild horses, but most of all, anything involving his family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, James and his wife of Brighton, Colo., and Robert Keith of Florida, five brothers, Donnie and his wife of Rock Springs, Merlin and his wife of Casper; Butch and Bobby Murphy and Tony Scheenan and his wife, all of Casper, and his ex-wife and friend, Margaret Thompson Murphy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Misty Dawn Murphy; brothers Raymond and Dennis Murphy; Frances and Carl Scheenan; and step-mother, Geneva Murphy.

The family asks that those wishing make memorial contributions to the "Dean Murphy Memorial Fund," P.O. Box 83, Mills, 82644.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory.
